Orchestra of Kazakh folk instruments named after M. Tolebayev
The Orchestra of Kazakh Folk Instruments named after M. Tolebayev is a unique artistic group with its own history, whose formation took place during the transition from the Soviet period to independent Kazakhstan, and despite the difficulties, served for the benefit of the country. The orchestra was founded in 1990 at the Taldykorgan Regional Philharmonic. In 1993, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the famous composer, People's Artist of the USSR Mukan Tolebayev, the orchestra was named after the outstanding composer by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Egeubek Dalbagaev, head of the regional Department of Culture at that time, Tanatar Alshabekov, director of the regional Philharmonic Society, Zhamagat Temirgaliev, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, conductor of the Kazakh State Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after N. Tlendiev, made a great contribution to the creation and organization of the orchestra. Initially, Zh. was invited to the position of chief conductor and artistic director of the orchestra. Temirgaliev. The creative team includes graduates of the Almaty State Conservatory named after Kurmangaza, the musical College named after K. Baiseitova in Taldykorgan and the Faculty of Music of Zhetysu State University named after I. Zhansugurov. Later in 1997, Ali Alpysbayev, an Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was invited to the post of artistic director, and Yerbolat Yerkenov, a cultural figure, was appointed chief conductor. The team has been replenished with young and talented performers.
To date, the chief conductor of the orchestra is Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order of "Kurmet", member of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, composer Alpysbayev Ali Demegenovich, and the artistic director, conductor is laureate of international competitions, talented musician Medet Esbergenov. The quality of the team is also very high, there are many artists who have been awarded various awards for their work: Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, cultural workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, excellent cultural workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as laureates, diploma holders of International and national level competitions. The orchestra is a large creative team, which employs highly professional musicians. From the very first step, the team has been striving for innovative mastery of genuine professional creative pursuits. In 2007, it became the winner of the International Serper Festival in Astana.
In 2008, he became a laureate of the Sofia Spring 2008 International Festival in Bulgaria and was awarded the Altyn Medal.
In Aktobe, he won the first prize at the International Festival "Zhubanov Koktem-2010".
In 2017, he took part in the International Festival of Orchestras of Folk Instruments dedicated to Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, which was held in Atyrau.
In 2016, at the invitation of the Talents of the World Foundation, he performed at the International Music Hall in Moscow.
As part of the Days of Culture of the Almaty region, they visited Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Antalya, Turkey, Osh, the Kyrgyz Republic, Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and others.
In 2016, he performed at the Abai State Opera and Ballet Theater in Almaty, in the Congress Hall in Astana at a meeting with the participation of the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.
The International Conducting Competition "Altyn Tayaksha" and the vocal competition "Kesteli oramal", the Republican Competition for composers of new works "Yelge Arnau", as well as the annual concerts in honor of M. Tolebayev's birthday in his native village of Lepsy are traditional events held with the participation of the orchestra.
The orchestra's 30th anniversary in 2021 was marked by a large concert program with the participation of outstanding conductors from foreign countries and our country.
People's Artist of the USSR Sh. Kazgaliyev, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zh. Temirgaliyev, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zh. Begendikov, winner of the Republican Tlendiev Conducting Competition D. Gylymov, winner of the Republican Sh. Kazhalieva J. Bekenturov, chief conductor of the St. Petersburg Andreev Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments D. Khokhlov performed with the orchestra. The orchestra was accompanied by People's Artist of the USSR A. Dnishev, N. Usenbayeva, and Honored Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan U. Kenzhebekov, K. Omarbayev, People's Artists of Kazakhstan N. Nusipzhanov, M. Kazturganova.
The Union of Composers of Kazakhstan is also in close creative cooperation with the orchestra.
The name of the creative team that popularizes folk works, talented works by Kazakh composers, the legacy of world and classical music, pleasing the public and confidently passing on its cultural heritage to future generations, will be written in gold letters on the pedestal of national music.
