Orchestra of pop and wind instruments
It was established in 2007 at the Almaty Regional Philharmonic named after Suyunbai. Temirbolat Kasenov was appointed the first artistic director and conductor of the orchestra. In subsequent years, these positions were held by Viktor Pak and Kairat Halykov.
Since 2022, the band has been working as part of the Danesh Rakishev Philharmonic, and it is one of the leading and unique philharmonic groups. The artistic director is the owner of the badge "Madeniyet salasyn uzdigi" Daniyar Zhakiyanov. The conductors are Kairat Halykov and the talented musician Ilya Bashkatov.
All the musicians of the orchestra have a professional education, they masterfully perform works by modern authors and foreign classics. In addition to the classical repertoire of the brass band, the band performs works by national composers of the republic and experiments in modern pop and jazz music. A characteristic feature of the repertoire is the fusion of musical styles, bearing a national character, based on the best traditions of the brass performing school of Kazakhstan.
In order to improve the professional level of the orchestra, there were close creative works with such famous conductors in the field of wind music of the country as Nurlan Baykuzov, Yakov Khan. Since its creation, the orchestra has been in great demand. He takes an active part in large-scale events held in the republic and the region. In particular, the agricultural fair of the Almaty region in Taraz, Astana, the opening of the Zhetysu Park in Astana, etc., dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate. Also, by special invitation, he visited music festivals that take place in our country, where he received the title of diploma holder, laureate.:
- In 2018, he was awarded a special diploma for performing at the highest level at the Jazz Spring Festival in Petropavlovsk.,
- At the Mono Cities Music Festival, at an event dedicated to the Day of the City of Tekeli, the orchestra was awarded the title of laureate (2018).
- In 2022, he took part in the Jazz Beau Monde International Festival in Kostanay and became a laureate.
He also participated in a number of TV projects.:
- In 2017, the concert program of the orchestra was filmed in the program "Musical Performance" of the national television channel "Kazakhstan".
- Also, the orchestra team has been a regular participant in the Songs and Years project for several years in a row, which was held at the Palace of the Republic with the participation of all the country's pop stars.
- He closely cooperates with such art stars as Zhuban Zheksenuly, Kurmash Makhan, and the Kazyna vocal ensemble.
The orchestra's staff works tirelessly to expand its repertoire. Currently, there are more than 200 works.
